Gobble............ @ 01:47 pm
I am grateful to have survived another marathon Thanksgiving. I'm positively sick of turkey & crave things like barbecue & Thai. Last year, I was chopping cabbage on Thanksgiving day when I sliced through my thumb nail. That bit of carelessness took until February to heal. This year was without incident or injury. I even managed to sleep 3 hours the night before. We had a good crowd & about 25 different dishes to choose from. Here's a collage of some of the food I prepared. The dish in the upper left corner is my sweet potato casserole. And if you look closely, you can make out an orange pot in the bottom center. That's my "slider style" dumplings. I received major cool points for the pumpkin shaped Dutch oven. This fantastic pot was a birthday gift from my friends, John & Melissa. LOVELY! This pot makes me the envy of the Martha Stewart wannabees of my clan. Some folks say that Thanksgiving is NOT about the food. I say, they need a different cook then. Seriously, for me, Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all blessings. Taste buds top my list. :)
