My Life as Metaphor

Halloween ate up a lot of October this year.  I have, however, found a minute or two to knit.  The approach of Christmas means that there's no time for learning some new pattern, instead, I'm working making gifts.  

On the needles right now is another Mason Dixon bath mat, "Absorba".  I'm using double worsted cotton from Elmore-Pisgah.  My niece Al has a brown/teal bathroom and I think that she & husband, Jim, might enjoy having this:  
  (Balls!  That's an ugly shot -- it's not nearly as ugly as this looks -- really)  I've just finished the third strip.  It's a fast and HEAVY project.  Since they're spending Christmas with Jim's family in Philly, I'm hoping to have it finished before Thanksgiving.  This will be followed with one for my sister and her husband.  
I tend to not like making anything twice, but intend on muddling through towards the holiday season.
